Tanya
comes to ART after 14 years performing, directing, teaching and
managing theatre companies in Los Angeles and NYC. In Los Angeles
she taught acting for both The Actor’s Network and Cine-Paris,
for whom she also doubled as casting director. In New York City,
Tanya served as Managing Director for the Creative Acting Company,
a former prominent school and theatre company which closed its
doors in early 2005.
On stage, roles include: Maria in The Sound of Music; Peg
in Supernormal Clutches; Yelena in Uncle Vanya
w/Expanded Arts; Gwen in Fifth of July, Sarah in Guys
& Dolls, Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense, and
Elizabeth in Richard III.
Tanya’s
film work includes roles in Ed Wood, Clear &
Present Danger, as well as the lead in Hollywood &
Vine, a contestant at The Sundance Film Festival and 1996
winner at the L.A. Film Festival. Her television work includes
guest roles on Sex In The City and Brooklyn Bridge.
As a writer, Tanya is the author of The Spiral Dance,
a psychological fantasy about a woman's journey of self-discovery,
in which the protagonist grapples with the voices in her head,
all of whom become players in her search for enlightenment and
the author of ART's current production, Euphoric
Tendencies, an erotic romantic comedy.
Among
her accomplishments include film producing, editing, directing
and composing.
Tanya studied at Carnegie-Mellon University, the Royal Academy
of Dramatic Arts, London, has a B.A. from the U. of Maryland and
an M.F.A. in Acting from Brandeis University.
